Thank you Marty Voiers!
We have checked another project off our "honey-do" list. We would like to thank Marty Voiers and his team for helping the Russell Theatre clean out our annex building. This is a project that has continued to be put off and was finally completed. Above is a photo of the annex building's main floor after it has been cleaned and patched..

Help restore the Russell
...and all the memories left behind
the heart of downtown
The Russell has long been known as the heart of downtown Maysville. This was the first job for so many people, where they went on their first date, and had their first kiss. This is where memories were made, memories that have lasted a lifetime-and beyond. The ticket stubs in the photo above represent many of those memories and we want to see many more memories made here. To help with the restoration efforts click here to donate.
Welcome to the Russell Theatre! We have been an icon in downtown Maysville since 1930. Our star-studded history includes the World Premiere of Rosemary Clooney's first major motion picture, "The Stars are Singing." Unfortunately, like so many other theatres, the Russell fell victim to the idea of "progress" in the 80's and the theatre was left abandoned. Luckily, a group of citizens banded together and raised money to purchase and save the theatre. A non-profit organization was formed and currently runs the theatre. Today we are still working toward restoring the theatre to its former glory, but we are open for business! We show movies, you can rent the theatre for a private event or movie, rent space on the marquee to wish someone a happy birthday or congratulate that special couple, and much more. You can read more about our story here.
